There are several events to commemorate Veterans Day in Worcester on Wednesday, November 11.
Veterans Day Procession and Pancake “To Go” Breakfast
10 AM: Starting at Percy’s TV & Appliance, 19 Glennie St. The Veterans Day procession line up will start at 10 AM and the procession will leave Percy’s at 10:30 PM.
Participants will receive a Pancake “To Go” Basket as they pass by Veterans Inc. headquarters at 69 Grove St. The procession will recognize Worcester war memorials before concluding in Green Hill Park.
All vehicle passengers must be members of the same household, and must remain inside the vehicle at all times. A limited number of vehicles will be allowed to take part, and participants must register for the procession. Register here. For more information, visit Veterans Inc.
World War I Memorial Unveiling
11 AM: Memorial Grove, Green Hill Park, 301 Green Hill Parkway
The unveiling will also be broadcast on Worcester Video on Demand and Worcester Government Chanel 192
A speaking program will be followed by a laying of wreaths, ribbon cutting, firing detail and the playing of taps. All participants in the Veterans Day Procession are welcome to stay for the ceremony, but must remain inside their vehicles.
Veterans Recognition Programs
12 PM: A Vietnam Veterans recognition program will be held at Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial at Green Hill Park, 301 Green Hill Parkway
1 PM: A Korean Veterans recognition program will be held at the Korean War Memorial on Foster St.
