According to Mass. Brew Bros, the tournament entrants were comprised of 48 IPAs from across the state separated into four regions — Northeast, Southeast, Central Mass. and Western Mass. Like the NCAA basketball March Madness tournament, each beer was given a seeded ranking in their respective regions, and “played” against each other in order to advance to the final four.
Other Worcester-area breweries in the Central Mass. region included Wormtown’s Don’t Worry (Worcester), Flying Dreams’ Woo-Tang (Worcester), Seven Saws Brewing’s Down Under (Holden) Cold Harbor Brewing’s Feather Edge (Westborough), Medusa Brewing Company’s Soft Machine (Hudson), River Styx Brewing’s Proteus XII (Fitchburg) Altruist Brewing Co.’s Hazed and Confused (Sturbridge) and Tree House Brewing Co.’s Haze (Charlton).
Greater Good’s PULP Daddy defeated Medusa’s Soft Machine in the Central MA’s finals. PULP Daddy then went on to defeat Brick & Feathers Brewery’s “No Use for Smugglers” and Fall River’s Canned Heat Brewing’s “Juelz” to earn the Most Tasty title.
